PHP & MYSQL DEVELOPER

Perceptis is looking to recruit a talented PHP & MySQL developer to work on a wide variety of Internet delivered software applications, e-commerce systems and database driven websites.

The role is most suitable for a new graduate or someone who doesn't want to work in a formal corporate environment, but would enjoy challening projects in a small, exciting, young company where fast learning is paramount. Candidates who can demonstrate the intelligence and technical aptitide to make the grade will be given the necessary support on more complex projects and generally to progress their career within the company.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas:

- Sound and proficient knowledge of the PHP language and MySQL database system.
- Ability to efficiently design complex multi-table databases.
- Ability to write clear, well structured and well commented code to a strict coding standard to allow code to be easily read and re-used.
- An understanding of the mechanics of websites, web delivered applications and e-commerce systems.
- An understanding of iterative development and testing techniques as often used on larger scale software systems.
- The ability to plan and accurately keep to project timescales.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet customer deadlines when required.
- A very high level of proficiency with PCs and Windows systems.
- Any web design skills would also be welcome.

Candidates most likely to succeed will be committed, flexible, honest, open-minded, positive, good humoured, amiable and will be capable of working in a small team where keeping to the company’s standards is of paramount importance.

Candidates will be tested for technical aptitude and ability before appointment.
