British Psychodrama Association Case Study
Background
The British Psychodrama Association (BPA) promotes and encourages the use of psychodrama throughout the UK. It is accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and in turn the BPA is the accrediting organisation for psychodrama and sociodrama training organisations.
All trainees and practitioners are required to be registered with the BPA which welcomes members from across the World. Membership is open to anyone who is interested in Psychodrama, Sociodrama and Action Methods.
Staffed mostly by volunteers, their aim was to automate as many of their membership, events and CPD processes as possible within a new website which both serves members and promotes Psychodrama and Sociodrama to the wider public.
Our Solution
- Target Audiences – The BPA’s audiences include members and practitioners; students and members of the public looking to access Psychodrama and Sociodrama services. This complexity has led to the creation of a multi-level site which visitors can use to suit their needs.
- Usability – Not all BPA members are “web-savvy”, but they all needed to be able to use the site easily including being able to update their personal professional profiles through the secure members’ admin area.
- Custom Software Development
- The site offers the public the opportunity to search for practitioners, trainers and training schools by region.
- Each registered full member has their own personal profile page with full editing rights.
- Authorised users can add events and training courses to the interactive calendar. There is also a moderation function.
- There is a secure Members Only section which contains CPD materials and other resources available only to members.
- The BPA run a high profile 3 day annual conference with a complex online booking and payment procedure including workshop selection, meal preferences and accommodation reservation.
- Membership records and Renewals are all handled online via the specially-designed system.
- Future-Proofing – Perceptis has designed the custom elements of the site to enable the BPA to add functionality in a simple, costs-effective way as their needs change and they expand the delivery of their services online.
